Participation in organized sports offers children numerous benefits that extend well into adulthood. Engaging in sports enhances physical health by improving cardiovascular fitness, strength, and coordination, while also promoting mental well-being by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression.
Moreover, involvement in team sports fosters essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline, contributing to higher self-esteem and social connectedness. To ensure that all children have the opportunity to experience these advantages, regardless of financial constraints, the Danny Dove Foundation offers sports grants for low-income families.
We encourage eligible families to apply for these grants or share this opportunity with others who may benefit, as our goal is to make organized sports accessible to every child. Below you will find the steps for receiving a grant as well as the grant application.
Why does your young child want to play sports? What will it accomplish? What are their goals?
Prepare your child to discuss their goals about the sport they want to play with one of our Ambassadors.
Complete the sports grant application. Grants are reviewed & awarded on a case-by-case basis.
Only completed grant applications will be accepted. Please allow 2-3 weeks for our Board of Directors to review.
Failure to complete a grant application in its entirety will result in an automatic rejection. We want to help as many young student-athletes as possible. We ask that you please answer questions honestly and truthfully to have a better chance at receiving a sports grant from The Danny Dove Foundation.
To honor the memory of Danny Dove by enriching the lives of underserved and underprivileged youth through access to organized competitive sports, music education, and the arts. This foundation aims to provide opportunities for young individuals to develop essential life skills, discover and nurture their musical talents, and explore their artistic passions by offering grants, resources, instruction, and support in these areas.
